I just wanted to give a shout out to Nix Termite. I have been using them for several years to inspect my house for termites and spot treat any problem areas. This year, I finally decided to fumigate my house in San Diego after finding evidence of live termite activity in the house. I noticed termite droppings in the bathroom windowsill, which came back a few days after wiping them away. Since I couldn't easily fumigate my garage, I decided to do a Bora Care treatment of my garage. I also had them do a Bora Care treatment of my attic and crawlspace. Bora Care will kill any termites on contact and make the wood taste bad so the termites won't eat the wood in the future, so it's better than fumigating in many ways. I was very happy with the Bora Care treatment of my garage. I watched as the Nix Termite technician thoroughly sprayed all the exposed wood in the garage, including the rafters. I was also impressed with the care they took in opening my attic hatch, which my painters had painted shut, in order to get into the attic to treat the attic. The price for the fumigation of the house was competitive with other termite companies and I was convinced to go with Nix Termite when they offered to extend the usual 2 year warranty another 3 years and throw in Bora Care of the garage if I added Bora Care of my attic and crawl space. The company Nix Termite used to do the fumigation was also very good. I watched as they tented my house and they did a really good job of tenting. They brought blankets at my request (Nix Termite conveyed my request to them) so the fans and other equipment could be put on blankets rather than directly on the hardwood floors since I'd just had the hardwood floors screened and coated. The team leader who was the one in charge of placing the fans inside the house wore shoe covers and masks inside the house as I'd requested. The fumigation company inadvertently broke some of my sprinklers and drips and didn't put my rain barrels back the way they were at the beginning (and there were a few other minor things). Nix Termite was really great and offered to give me an Amazon gift card to compensate me for the trouble caused by the fumigation company, which I thought was really nice. They also came back to spot treat some termite-eaten wood in my backyard aviary without charging me extra for the visit, which I appreciated. It's never a good time to have one's house tented, but it's really important to do as a matter of maintenance every 10 or so years if you plan to live in your house for many years. Thank you, Nix Termite, for keeping my house termite free!

I utilized this company for a termite inspection, and there certainly are some pros and cons. I am currently selling my home and going through our escrow period. I called around to a few places. I was looking for someone who could do the inspection for a reasonable price, but also come out on a short timeframe.
The prices I received ranged from $100 to $75 and some were booked out several weeks. These guys were at the lower end of that scale. I explained I was on a condensed window and needed it done ASAP, they said no problem.
Our inspector came out and found a few issues during the inspection. He told us we would have to rip out carpet to do drilling for subterranean termites and that we'd be responsible for replacing everything. This obviously was a big blow to us as we did not want to spend a lot of money. Further, their repair bill was pretty high for what I felt they were offering and the soonest they could come do the repair was almost two weeks, putting us at the end of the escrow period. This obviously was a less than desirable option, especially since I told them the timeline I was on to begin with.
I decided to bite the bullet and pay for another inspection by a different company who was recommended by someone else. They came out the next day, found the same discrepancies, plus an additional area missed by Nixtermite. To make it even better, they came out to do the repairs the next business day for about 2/3 the price and assured me the drilling could be done OUTSIDE the house with the same result and therefore would not need to disturb the carpet. Even though we had to pay for another inspection, it was a win (price), win (timeline), win (drilling), win (thoroughness).
I emailed Nixtermite to let them know what happened. They didn't apologize, just told me how to pay the bill for the inspection. I appreciate the low cost of the inspection and how quickly the inspector came out, but I wouldn't use them again.

I didn't really need their service because my apartment complex already took care of the service but I got immediate response from them and the girl who I spoke with was really nice. They got back to me to let you know what pests we have at our new apartment.

Recently used Nix for an inspection prior to a refinance. This is the second time I have used them. They showed up right on time and provided the report in a timely manner. Inspector was professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using Nix.

If I could give this business, 10 stars I would happily do it! These guys are the best!!! They beat the quote we had from a different company, they were SOOO NICE and friendly when they came to do the fumigation and wood work and did a great job! We paid extra for insurance for the roof tiles and they were proactive, came back to the house, checked the tiles that were broken and said they will replace them. We didn't have to check their work after them. They gave us peace of mind. And best best best of all- we didn't pay until the work was completed!!! No other business in this day and age does this, I have to say if I had to pay more knowing what I know about this business, I would gladly.. thank you thank you! Other businesses should learn from you guys how to do business and retain customers!

I thot I'd seen a couple cockroaches and Nix sent a technician out right away to check into my situation. They didn't jump the gun on services and wanted to put out bait and check to see what the problem was to make sure what I'd seen was in fact cockroaches -- and if so, to determine how bad if there was any infestation. Jeremy, the technician, was very cordial and patient with me and very intent on listening, asking questions to try to determine the best course of action. He went over with me what the prices might be depending on the severity of the situation, based on what they may find. I felt they were very reasonable compared to the other places I had checked into and felt too that they were trying to be mindful not to make charges that weren't necessary if I didn't need them. Jeremy was very personable and I felt confident I could trust them. I feel this is a very reliable company and would recommend them to anyone.
